I read it.

This is G R E A T news for someone who rides almost exclusively in the woods! Way to go Yamaha! Thanks atvscene.com for telling us the way you see it and not candy coating it all.

Check out Dirtwheels! The top speed of the Raptor was only 1mph faster than the Banshee, now that is pathetic!!! For the extra $700 the Raptor costs you can make the Banshee alot more faster than 1mph. Give me a break, a 4-stroke is never going to be able to replace a Banshee as the most thrilling quad you can buy!!

Yes, super thrilling in a straight line, but get it in tight stuff and it's not so thrilling when 400ex's make it look so easy to go fast and you're stuck clutching it and waiting for the power to kick in.

The raptor is not a Banshee replacement, it's an alternative for those of us who don't live in the sand!

You just need to learn how to ride a man's quad and not just a boy's toy!

But all the mags and what not have been saying the Raptor will pull 2-3 more tooth higher front sprocket with out loosing any bottom end torque. man 2 more teeth would make that thing way faster then the banshee.

Great review!!!! Yamaha has been doing their homework......

The Raptor sounds like the best "out of the box" racer. But how many races have you been too where everyone races stock machines?
Just something too think about......

Don't care what all the mags say! Anyone who has any hands on experience modifying quads KNOWS that a 2 to 3 tooth increase is going to have a significant impact on low end grunt.
