Yea, but you know, it's the gratification of knowing it's legal and there is nothing they could do about it.

Duke, I only know of Wyoming and Arizona. And that's from members posting it here. I'm sure you will get the replies"it's legal until you get caught"

To make mine street legal in AZ, I had to have insurance ($125/year through Progressive), the tags for my licence plate cost me $100/year (gradually decreases with age of machine), have an electric horn, a rear view mirror, and a brake light which the raptor comes with. I was motivated by this thread this weekend and jumped on my quad and cruised about 20 miles to my cousins house for his band practice. Rode right into his garage while he was playing and locked em up. Scared the crap out of him in mid song. Didnt get pulled over yet, just alot of strange looks. The Rappy kicks butt on acceleration at lights.

Yes, but if you check out the street legal Raptor, it has 1 rear wheel and 2 fronts. The problem with ATV's on pavement is the solid rear axle. They just don't turn well. In Oregon, I think the differential requirement is specifically written into the laws. I don't think you can drive a truck with a locked axle on the highway either. It's also why you can have those half car, half motorcycles (3-wheeled). They have a diff in the back.

35charlie, You are correct, The stability of having 2 wheels up front versus 1 like the old atc's is the difference. But, why take away 2 wheels from the rear and force us to make it a "reversed" 3 wheeler for street legal. Guess, I need to think about it somemore Or can you shed some light

The solid axle with no differential is no good for road riding, turning is alot easier on a single rear wheel so believe it or not its more stable and safe.
