2003 Grizzly Drive Shafts/Axles
#12
I have a 2003 and have broken 2 cv joint on rear axels. I decided no to continue to buy bad quality axels and ordered new ones from gorrilla axel and they are nice. But a little pricey. I will report mine
Thanks

All three have been different locations. 1st front right, 2nd right rear, & 3rd left rear. I' am betting it will only be a matter of time and the left front breaks. After submitting my failure report to the dealer it will be interesting to see what gets done.

I just experienced this same problem. I was out TRAIL riding, not mudding, and had three axles break within about 15 minutes of each other. Granted after the first one broke, I'm sure the 2nd and 3rd were accelerated due to addition stress of the first brake, which was the right rear by the way. Now You can say it is due to abuse, but I was trail riding. My machine is 1 year old and has 800 miles on it, I maintain it religiously. I have known people to drive Hondas for 10+ years doing no more maintenance than the occasional oil change with no axle problem. The people having these axle problems might be hard on there machines, but that's what they're made for. I don't think every Honda owner babies their machine. Don't be so quick to blame the rider, I am a die hard Yamaha enthusiest, but I think Yamaha is at fault here. By the way, I asked the dealer if they had seen any notorious problems with other machines like mine. They said they hadn't seen a lot on the 2004 models, but quite a few on the 2003 models.
