looks like you got rid of the predator and went with a yamaha, huh mudliferider? I've raced against a few predators many, many times. It was always close till I went into the motor.

I havent met a stock or piped YFZ or 450R that can beat me. Maybe its just the riders around here or something...maybe its cuz we race on dirt and not on sand...either way I still havent been beaten. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I race my buddy's YFZ thats got its baffle removed and Holeshot Tires and we are even in 300ft and after that I'm gone. They arent as fast as what people say they are

 

Yeah, I am not saying good or bad. Although I enjoyed my Pred alot, I believe I am going to enjoy my YFZ more. It is very fast, with a pipe and rejetted with air box lid off and I like the riding position alot more than the Pred. I am just saying what experience was while I had it.

 

are we serious... how many times have we established that the raptor is in fact faster then the yfz what is so hard to understand... maybe not on an mx track or in acceleration..but i missed the part where a yfz was overall faster then a raptor! a raptor has a couple of mph on the yfz and the yfz has a couple mph on the trx..plain and simple. there it is. until i get beat by a yfz ill know im right and i dont think its going to happen

 

I have raced a couple Preds and beat a couple and then I have lost a couple. I have raced a couple z400s and smoked them. I have raced a couple Stock YFZ and they arent as fast as everyone says they are. In 300ft on dirt were side by side and then I still got another gear left and hes toped out pretty much. There slow on Top End or at least the ones I have raced.

 

this is almost funny... a raptor does not "smoke" a pred when both are stock... the 2 are pretty even... take them on a track where the pred was designed to be used... and tell me what wins... the pred has better acceleration out of corners than the raptor and it handles WAAAAAYYYYY better... thats why the yfz is so nice on a track... it gets up and goes very quickly... all the new high rev 4 strokes were made for one reason, MX racing.

and its funny how 3 guys on here beat a 450 on their raptors... so clearly all raptors are faster than 450's... 99% of all riding is rider... so when it comes to drags or MX or anything... who ever is pushing the throttle makes the difference.

 

Im a yamaha guy myself but it has been my expierences that the pred is a lil faster than a raptor stock for stock. in fact the far better rider was on the raptor and the pred still pulled away on top-end. the pred-owner ordered a pure polaris pipe and the raptor owner has an HMF pipe on the way so i will find out wht happens piped vs. piped within the next few days.
