Default Banshee engine temp?

If your running your banshee in the dunes, what should the temp range from on the engine, radiator, and exhaust?? Anyone have that data, or know where to look on the internet??? I'm planning on mounting a temp gauge on my banshee and I want to know whats normal...

I'm not really sure on the banshee. but I like to keep my raptor around 150 to 160*F. If it get above 200* I will shut it down. I fried a piston last year by overheating it.

Do a search, this was discussed in great detail a couple weeks back.

I have a temp gauge and my temp sits around 180 while riding. If idling along or pushing it hard at low speeds, I have seen it go up to 210-220 which is about as high as I would go before shutting it down. The main thing you need to worry about in 4 strokes is the oil coking; or getting so hot it loses its lubricative qualities and turns to thick goo (burns essentially). This generally starts to happen w/ dino oils around 230 deg. In 2-strokes, the oil is in the gas, so it doesn't circulate. I would say for 2 strokes you need to worry only about it getting so hot that things start to warp, etc. I would still say 230-250 is the point where you need to start worrying about it.

I run at about 160-180 on the guage. At 220 is when coolent starts to boil i believe or at atleast over flow. I shut down at 200.

Yeah, I did a search on the forums and they said your overheating at 220... I also found an awsome temp gauge to put on my banshee, Check out this Banshee at the bottom of the page. He's using this on his bike... Cool Temp Gauge This is what I want to put on my banshee. It might look tacky, but the rest of my banshee will make up for it
