ok i just got back from the new yamaha dealership that just opened up and thier wanting 6100 for a 05 raptor and 7100 for a05 yfz 450. this is prob going to be my first quad and im 16 5'10 and a 185lb and i know how to ride. were i live its mostly open trails, creek beds, some tight trails, roads,a lot of hill climbing, and thier are some mx tracks around so which one would be the best choice for me to go. thanx later

 

if you plan on being on the mx track all the time get the 450, if you will mostly be on the other open trails and hills go with the raptor. but either way they are both fast bike and will do what you want.

 

for 1,000 bucks in after market parts u should get a rappy and mod it out

 

The rappy is a great bike but only for the trail riding would you want the Rappy. They are wheelie monsters which would suck for the hillclimbs and just a slight bit tippy (enough that you wouldn't want to use it for MX unless widened). The suspension on the Rappy is much softer than the YFZ's and won't wear you out nearly as fast, that YFZ will bounce you all over the place. I don't mind the suspension that much and have gotten used to it, give it a good test ride before you decide to get one. I've ridden mine in all types of terrain already and must say it excels at everything, and is designed much better than the Rappy (in stock form [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] ). I love both bikes but they are built totally different from eachother, so make sure you look into both very good before deciding. Good luck!

 

yea im going to call the delearship and see if i can test drive them both but i think i might go with the raptor cause i only would be going to the track maybe a couple of times a year so thiers no since in getting the yfz and i hear their not the best for trail rideing either
