Are auto's any good?

Hi everybody I am going to get a quad in the near future and i was wondering if automatic trannys are any good. Im used to using a clutch and have had some expeiece with auto clutches but none with full automatics. Im moving to montana where i will we doing a lot of high elevation "mountain" climbing and some trail riding. Would an auto be good for this? If anyone knows of a good automatic please let me know. Thanks!

Yeah as long as they have a low gear then they're fine for climbing , I would buy a grizzly or a kodiak

It depends on what you prefer. I love the auto on our griz and have never had a problem. There is no chain to adjust or grease. The belt has been reliable and has never slipped.

the nice thing about autos is that you dont break traction while shifting

i like them in SOME cases...autos are very easy to use yes, but a manual with give u the much more needed torque, but autos are better for hillclimbing (in some cases), and most autos use belts which when wet will slip....ive had my experience with autos and manuals and i will take a manual over an auto any day

So when mud-bogging the autos belt will slip? Like how bad? Would it stop you right there and prevent you from moving?

theres a good possibility(it doesnt mean soon as u hit water its gonna happen)...if they are built right then no, it doesnt prevent it COMPLETELY from moving but it will just go slow at high rpms

How long wouls it take to dry out? Would light rain affect it or will it only slip when the belt is completely submerged in mud or water?
