Default How Old for a Banshee?

I was out for an ATV'ing weekend with buddies this weekend and on our way back home on Sunday we were stopped in a little town called Terra Nova. You can see the type of riding done there by checking my Gallery on the sand pits ..

We were all at the local store having a ice cream and resting a little when two kids came by. One was on a smaller type quad, maybe a breeze or something and the other one was on a Banshee.

This kid, IMO had no buisness on a machine like that. He looked to me to be all of 10 years old, I mean he could barely reach the clutch on this thing!!! It was all stock, so fairly tame for a banshee, but still!!! I'd like to have followed him and found his parents and biotch slapped them both for turning a quad like that over to a kid who was way too small for it.

You know how the story would end up here, if the kid got crazy and trashed the quad and hurt or god-forbid killed himself .. who gets the blame??? The kid? No, he's just a kid cut him some slack. The parents?? Hell no, they were just being nice getting him a cool quad. ATV's in genera? BINGO.

I hate seeing this kid of thing ... anyone else seen this kind of thing??

open your eyes.. maybe the kid has been riding since he was 3. that would give him a lot of experience. It is all on rider experience. And I have known many younger people who were better riders (& more mature) than older ones.

You are making an assumption such as...a 50 year old man would be a better quad rider than a 30 year old man. Perhaps the parents are in the wrong, but you dont know the full story. Did you see the kid riding it irresponsibly or something?

Just an honest opinion.

SEMO, I agree in part with what you're saying. I know several kids (general term, don't take offence) who are excellent riders. Yeah this kid could have been riding since he was 3, but that doesn't mean he's capable of operating, safely, a machine that he can barely reach the clutch on. If he can barely reach the clutch, he can barely reach the front brakes too ... And riding unsupervised to boot!!

He wasn't particularly irresponsible in his riding, but you could see he was struggling with a simple turn around.

Again .. age in particual wasn't a main focus on this, but this kid was tiny. If he weighed 60lbs I'd have eaten my helmet. It's just asking for trouble as far as I'm concerned. And again, if he got into trouble on the machine and got hurt or worse, it's ATV's and ATVer's in general who look bad for it.

ya, you are prolly right, a small 10 year old, having problems...he had no business on that quad.
