I have a 1996 yamaha wolverine and when i let it come to a idle and punch it it dies. If i let it reach about 1/4 throttle and then punch it it wont do it. What could be wrong.

 

Checked your air filter. One my wolverine if you hit a puddle fast all the water splashes up under the tank and fills the air box up.

 

brand new air filter. It is a uni. i dont know if that needs rejetting or not

 

will a warrior carb fit on a wolverine without any rejetting. I just bought a 1998 warrior carb for it. I think they are the same thing. THANKS

 

I'm not sure if it will fit or not, but I am pretty sure they are different sizes. I believe the warrior carb is a 36mm while the wolverine is 34mm. I wouldn't think putting in just a uni filter would cause you to have to rejet, but I guess it is possible. Did you try driving with the choke on to make it run a little richer? If it doesn't die, then it probably does need to be rejetted. What kind of filter did you have on before the uni? The reason I ask is because if for some odd reason you are getting less air flow now, the carb might be bogging and dying from being too rich and getting too much gas. You could see if it does it with your old filter again and go from there.
