every quad ive ever owned has had ticking valves. all of them have. check out my pix, you shouldnt wanna ditch that 01 yet, cripe mines an 89 and its still going strong. i would invest in some engine and power upgrades instead of selling it. i wouldnt give up on the old girl quite yet though.

Warriors never die!

Ok well some might, but for the most part they can be saved with little cash invested. Have you tried something as simple as switching oil? Or perhaps running super?

Is it a knock or a tap? It sounds to me like a bit of a tap which might be no big deal. Also (and this may sound silly) but check your exhaust system. I crack in your header pipe will sound a lot like a valve tap, and it will get louder.

A slight tap is ok as others have said. If she's losing power maybe you just need a valve adjustment.

I already changed the oil and exhaust
Shes does doing some type of tapping and its constant I have checked the valves but not adjusted them ever. I will give the valve adjustment either way to be positive that it is ok. even though it might be normal i still find it a tad bit loud.
