Which one is more reliable kick starter or electric starter ?
The kick starter is more reliable. Think about it, if your there and alive you can kick it over to start it. Also electricial systems have alot more parts to them and a battery that can die.
Convienience...everyone wants it now-a-days, it's also a little tricky to kick start some of these big bore quads too.it also doesn't cost much more to manufacture so companies don't mind adding them.

You hear much more people say that their electric starter stopped working.
Very seldom you may hear that something went wrong with their kick starter.
So why doesn't the manufacturer's put both systems, and if two systems is alot then just put the kick starter because it is more reliable than the electric starter system.
Imagine your are in the woods very far far far away, and your battery just dies on you, then there is no way to start your atv.
Thanks.

I don't know if a person COULD kick over a rappy LOL... Hell I had an old 86 500 CR they had no comp release and that was a beast to kick. Even with the comp release I would think 660cc of 4 stroke would be a MONSTER to start, and don't even get me started on the high comp big bores! LOL

you would be ok because any manufacturer that incorporates a kick start on a big bore motor will solve the problem of kicking it, whether it be the length/angle of the kick shaft, a decompression lever (hot start), ect. I know a lot of guys arent the best at kicking starting a machine, but everybody eventually gets the hang of it.
