just curious if the intinals meant anything like yamaha fast zinger or something like that?
do any of the companys intinals mean anything like the trx or cr yz and so on?just bored and this crossed my mind.
Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but Honda made the Fourtraxx 4 wheelers. It may have something to do with the TRX. The rest, I think they just went through the alphabet and picked some that sounded good together.
The 'y' probably means Yamaha. The 'f' definitely means four stroke. The 2-stroke bikes were YZ, the 4-stroke ones, YZF so the quad with the same motor became YFZ.

NO, IT's a rip off of the original "YFZ" yfz-350 AKA the BANSHEE. Deffinetly not a 4 stroke. It just didn't get a cool name like any other yamaha bikes.
