Default Many ?'s on how to spend my money on my banshee... Wouldn't you love to help me spend my money...

Well, I have a 2004 Limited Edition banshee that is all stock at the moment, but needs some mods. I have about $1500 to spend to make it more of a MX machine and I myself do not know alot obout modding a banshee or any quad for that so thats why Im here asking for you help. I would love for anyone to take some time and answer some questions I have thought up...

1) My shee needs new shocks. Im probably buying some Elkas to go on the front first with the stock a-arms. Later on Im planning on getting +2 arms and I would like to know if the same shock on my stock arms would fit on the +2 arms...

2) For tires Im getting some ITP's and im not sure what size I should purchase. Whether it be bigger, smaller or same size as stock.

3) About nerf bars I was looking in my dirt wheels magazine and I see many different types but the dont specify what quad they go to. Does this mean that type fits all quads, or must I call and tell them the type of quad I have and go from there?

4) What is the difference in a longtravel a-arm and a standard a-arm and which is best for what type of riding?

5) When I purchase my exhaust system if I get toomey t5's will that reqire jetting and if so how should I got about jetting it? by kit or take it to a shop or do it myself

6) Buying a K&N filter will the PRO FLOW W/K&N (+-$95) be a whole kit or will i have to buy more products to make it work? Same for a K&N Power Kit.

7) Where is a reed located on my quad and what will a new one do for me?

8) What does the Toomey Racing 2 into 1 kit air filter do for me? It says eliminates the air box. Does that mean it will be a bare air filter under my seat? and would that allow water to get into my engine?

Thank you for any answers or explanations you might give...

Motor Mods
T5 or FMF Fatty Pipes
Cool Head with 21cc Domes
Porting
V-Force Delta 2s
Pro Flow Intake
Clutch Kit

Tires (20x11x9) or (18x10x8)
Nerf Bars X-Factor Pro Pegs- Call K&K and tell them you want these Nerfs for a Banshee
A-Arms- For your kind of riding I would go with Long Travel A-Arms
Jetting-Most companies send jets with there pipes. If they dont you can ask them What size jets to run.
Air Filter-Pro Flow Is the whole kit
Reeds- they are behind the Rubber boot that hooks the Carbs to the Cylindears. Reeds will give more Low-End and Mid-Range

First off congrats!!!

Second, $1,500 goes quickly.

For mx Elkas are great. Id get them set up for the 2+ a arm. Thell be stiff but if its only for a short time oh well, You can also pay to have them set up again but that will cost more. ( this will take most of your money)

Itps are good, id get 20" unless you only mx then probly smaller

As for pipes toomeys aren't a mx pipe, get either Fattys, gnarlys, procircuts, any 2 into 1, PT MIDS, (basicly any mid to low pipe ) NO toomeys, CPI, ROCKETS, ect ( No Topend)

YES!!!!! you will need to rejet, I'd learn to do it myself it will pay off in the long run!!!! www.bansheehq.com the'll get you close

NO power kit wast of money. get a K&N and a clamp on or a foam filter with a clamp on. But clamp on is a must!!

Reeds are in between the jugs and the carb. Better reeds improve throttle response.

Yes there will be no box and water could get in if it gets wet.

================================================== ===========

Some pointers
Shocks will be important

Get the timing advanced: modd the stock plate (free) or buy adjustable plate set to +4 degrees

Next buy cool head or get the stock head milled .030 (great mod for low end and cheap $40)

I love the 15 th sproket way more gear and less shifting if you got mods.

Tether kill switch (needed for mx)

Cut the fenders even if your not going faster you'll feel faster!!! HAHA

IF you got money PORT!!! and dont for get a axle

I agree with everything these guys have said, except I think you should get some more
opinions on whether or not to go with the long travel...

-The toomey t-5 are great pipes and jetting is very easy, your unscrewing one jet and screwing in another in the carb. About $500

-The toomey 2 into 1 airfilter eliminates the airbox (yes bare filter under the seat)but makes it much easier to get to the carbs for jetting, I ride in semi-wet areas and water can get in when it's deep and it splashes it up too much, you will then cause you to have to remove your carbs to clean them out at the end of the day, if you go this route like I did use foam as it's much better for wet conditions and super easy to clean. This will really allow your quad to breath and I highly recommend it if your riding only semi-wet places, you will also need a overflow water bracket. Both $ 90

-Porting is a Banshee's secret weapon, and makes huge increases. $400-600 from shops or I can do it for $225

- V-Force2 are great reeds and make nice gains for about $200 or you can port the stock ones for alot less which is what I did $25.
