my raptor smokes help!!
#1
when i crank my raptor it smokes quite a bit of white smoke. once warm it doesnt smoke while riding
also when it is sitting there it will smoke if i push it wide open a couple of times in a row. that is also white smoke
could it have something to do with the valves needing to be adjusted, its been a while?
im fixing to take it in because it needs a new clutch. i thimk so anyways when it comes time for a new one will it slip while being wide open through the gears. it has to be the clutch i think because it will feel like it is slipping and be all the way revved out in fifth and then it will catch
is it easy to replace the clutch. i will be replacing basket, clutch, and pressure plate.
im going to the gyt-r billet pieces dont you think this will be good for a bored, possibly stroked motor
also how hard is it to adjust valves on the raptor? isnt it designed to have valves adjusted by removing cover plates right by the end of the rockers
i would rather do it myself how hard is it?
thanks for the help

putting in the clutch is verry easy adjusting the valves well you need a good tourqe wrench and need to know how tight the valves need to be but all in all pretty easy. go for it

A friend of mine bought a new raptor and as soon as he started it up it smoked white real bad. he warmed it up and took it down the road a few times and it still smoked bad. we thought there was something wrong with the motor but werent worried because of warranty. I told him to run the absolute $@%# out of it and see if it still smokes. He did and the smoke stopped and till this day has had no problems. go figure.
