I would have to say the wolverine. It would be a perfect quad for the type of riding you stated.

I'm also in the market for a second atv. I think you should take a hard look at the new 05 Kodiak 450 - it has plenty of power, IRS, low gear, diff locker, just under $6k out the door. They are reliable workers and capable offroaders without being too big. This will probably be my next purchase.

Another you might consider is the new Honda Rancher 400AT. It's got a little more power than the old rancher although it's no hot rod. Honda has fallen behind other manfacturers in features these days, but still make a solid/reliable machine. The one thing I like about the rancher is the solid hydromechanical trans vs the belt drive found on many other quads. If you ride in deep water on a grizz or kodiak you stand a good chance of getting water in the belt. Now you guys who have yamaha stickers in your bed pipe down, I'm talking DEEP water, headlight to rack deep, not puddles..

'04 400 KODIAK 4x4 All stock, except 2000 lb. winch, handlebar grips, and camo tape kit. I got exactly what I wanted in a utility quad. I'm 185 lbs. All the power I need. Goes over 50 mph. The power in my brother's '03 Kaw Prairie is almost scary. I won't ever go bigger. Mount a ball and a ring on the back to pull anything. Has not backed down from any hills or mud my ***** talked it into...

Can't ride enough.

Um, I don't want to say I told you so, but...... Naw just kiddin'. I really love my Grizz and it does everything that I ask it to. I test drove the Rincon before I bought the Grizz. In my mind, no comparison. I am very very happy with my choice. Just my .02

the main thing i have against the grizzly is the weight of it i use my quad alot around the farm on some pretty rough terrain alone and if i ever got one of theos heavy quads upside down on top of me i worry that i couldnt kick it back off of me. just a thought. my buddy is the only person i know of with rear axle problems fron what i read on the net its usually the front axles that break. Yamaha told me that the new kodiak irs is a down-sized version of the grizzly irs. its new so we will see what happens with it and if holds up but it should. but overall i would definetly go with the grizzly over the rincon.
