Take this for example.. a stock raptor and a modified raptor like min.. say they both have 12/40 gears.. say we both accelterated together. til teh top of second gear.. would i keep pulling ahead because of my mods?

Cause when i drag hills.. i have 12/40 and i raced a guy with 12/40 and he just had his piped and what not.. I killed him.. and he said he was topped out in second and i was in top of second.. i can pull it 3rd but second feels faster...

your gonna have more torque and hp in second. Thats why you will be pulling ahead in the same gear.

Yeah more torque and horsepower.. but.. even if i have a 780 kit on my raptor if i can top out in a gear its not gonna matter how much power i have is it.. or will my top speed in that gear be longer..(shouldnt be but hey)

From what I understand you should not gain any more mph, but should be able to reach the maximum mph in that gear more quickly. If you throw an incline into the equation, since you have more torque it should be easier for you to maintain a higher rpm than the stock raptor allowing you to stay in the "sweet spot" of your power more easily.... Makes sense in my head, but don't know if it will make sense to ya'll in word.

According to your test, same acceleration and same gearing, thus you would have the same velocity(minus factors like traction and weight, etc) then you should stay equal......the thing is that you will probably be able to get to rev faster in second gear because of your added power...

If you both rev out at the same point, then you will always be ahead by the same amount( and that amount is how much faster you quad is at accelerating due to you mods)
