Last time out it ran fine.....now it has sat for alot of the summer and today when I went out it starts spitting and sputtering at anything above a quarter throttle?? Took the carb off and completely cleaned it out and put a new plug in it and the same symptoms?? Any ideas or suggestions?

Could be bad fuel, clogged petcock, clogged fuel filter, dirty air filter. Did you blow out all of the passages in the carburetor? If so, did you spray all of the passages with carb cleaner prior to blowing them out? Just a few things that come to mind. Hope it helps.

I'm with BansheeBill; fresh fuel needed! Drain tank (from reserve petcock) and refill; now try it. Good luck.

Mine did that same thing with a K&N with outerwear. The outerwear got dirty and restricted air flow apparently. Try taking the filter off and see if it still does it. Just don't leave the filter off while riding.

Yea,, it's the parking break. Mine does that all the time. I've actualy had to remove the pressure switch from the back of the clutch lever and lube it a little to keep it from sticking. I've learned not to leave the parking break on for any length of time. I'm about to the point of disabling it.

Hey Marko! I bet I've got the answer for ya!! First, in order to prevent this in the future, you need to add Sta-Bil to your fuel before you store the machine. Mix it up in your tank and then run the bike for a short time, turn off the petcock, and run the last bit of gas out of the carb. This will prevent the gas from turning into varnish. What has undoubtedly happened to you is the same thing that happened to my buddy with his warrior. (identical scenario!) Just taking the carb off and doing a quick clean job is not good enough. In my buddy's case, even blowing out the passageways in the carb was not good enough. Your problem is in the pilot jet. It has a VERY tiny orifice in it that is extremely prone to clogging up with conjealed fuel. This stuff turns into rock hard varnish, closing off the orifice and starving your motor @ the slow speeds you described. Take the carb back out of the bike and remove the float bowl and pilot jet. Try to look through it with a flashlight and you will notice it is plugged. You will need to run a very fine wire through that orifice to break loose the hardened crap in there. It may take a bit of patience, but it works. Then, blow out the jet with compressed air. Blow out every other jet and passageway while your in there. Carefully reinstall everything and fill the bike with fresh gas, and it should run like a champ again! I'm betting that this is your solution. Let me know how it goes for you. P.S., Are you itchin' for that Raptor yet?????
