I use to have 20" 8 paddle with stock gearing 13/42? In the vids I then changed too 12/42 and pulled hills in 4th, felt a big dif. Now I am using 22" extreme haulers 10 paddle, i have yet to tune the gearing cause i havent had a chance to go to dumont, im thinking in about 2 weeks im heading out there.

What the *%$# are you talking about? I have a piped, cammed, jetted Rappy with a 14 tooth primary sprocket and I smoke piped, cammed jetted YFZs every weekend drag racing on 300ft dirt tracks. As a matter fo fact, I get SO much wheel spin out of the hole Im gearing up to a 15 tooth sprocket. I dont know who does you engine tuning, but if you can beat that YFZ with your Rappy, You need to fire that guy and hire someone that know how to tune an engine.

I dont deny the YFZ its props, it's fast but c'mon.

They were all no-show's at Sandfest, the big-blocks ruled to say the least.

Take that same Raptor to the dunes where I ride and It will get walked. We are talking between 1,200 and 1,500ft straight uphill. I have not been beat by a Raptor yet without a big bore. And even then its rare. Just this past weekend I raced another 690 Raptor, and yes it was properly built. He was close but 2nd place both times we raced. I'm not trying to keep this thread going. Just letting you know that there are some fast YFZ's out there. As I have said before, I like and own both.
