You guys are too funny! We got all these soon to be Raptor owners arguing with all the loyal Banshee owners about which bike is better! It's truly hilarious!
I own a 1999 400EX. I bought it after owning a 250X for 12 years. I enjoy the hell out of it! I've ridden Banshees, stock ones, piped ones, totally tricked-out ones. I've ridden 250R's, Ive ridden Polaris machines. You know what? I enjoy all of them! Hell, if I'm on a quad, I'm having a good time. I had a great time once driving a 10 hp go kart in the small dunes near the store at Glamis.
If I had all the money I wanted, I'd probably own 6 different quads, but I can only afford the one, and I like what I got. I've put some additional money into it to make it a little more exciting, but I can't afford to sell it and buy a new one everytime one comes out.
Those of you buying Raptors...great! I'd love to try riding one after they are released. If any of you live in the Phoenix area, let me know once you get one, I'd love to go ridin' with ya, and maybe take a spin on the beast. I'd be more than happy to let you try my 440.
Those of you who want to keep your Banshees, great. Keep on ridin', that's what I'm doing, and I love it!

Hey I agree, it's getting a little old all the Banshee vs. Raptor crap. Maybe they should start a new forum. It just seems like every other post is, The Banshee will smoke a Raptor, or Raptor will smoke a Banshee. To me it seems like some Banshee owners need to keep saying how the Raptor sucks, cause they're a little insecure with their Banshee.

Gee. That was constructive.....
I guess you weren't around when the 400EX was released, or the DS650....
There's more smack about those quads than you can imagine, and they were both compared to the Banshee as well. Interesting note - all of the new quads are being compared to the 13 year old Banshee. It will take some time for everyone to sort out where the Raptor sits. The good news is that now I have a choice of three newly designed performance quads to choose from during my next trip to the bike shop.

Hey man, thanks for posting this.. This Raptor stuff was kinda gettin on my nerves. Like I told Bash, I try to do all the talkin I can with my right thumb. While everyone is arguing over banshee vs. Raptor.. or honda vs. yamaha or how polaris sucks, i'm out riding with my buddies.. Honda, Polaris, Yamaha, Suzuki or kawasaki I don't care, if they can keep up with me, come on! I love to ride, and I like these forums when you can actually get help with questions or problems, but this arguing is for someone else!!! Just my thoughts.. But hey, maybe i'm wrong.. but it'll all be over with soon.. Pretty soon, it'll be put up or shut up with the raptor. Later,

Yea, it's a real A$$ whippng. The Banshee guy's are always worried there will be something faster, then they in their minds will not be the badest or fastest or whatever. I have a 400ex and am buying a Raptor, do I think either one will out run a Banshee...probably not...but who really cares?. I know it takes more than a good thumb to be a complete rider.

I just want to know one thing; what is the big friggen deal with comparing top speed? When do you ever go 70 mph in a race? (besides drags) I race TT, MX, and desert racing and yet to find a course/track where you can top out a quad for any significant amount of time, who cares if a certain bike will do 75 and another "only" 72, my banshee would kill any pro level dirtbike in a drag, but I guarentee that same dirt bike would spank my banshee in any real racing situation, so instead of rambling on about top speed we should be trying to figure out how to fix all the shortcomings of all the different bikes, how to get more riding areas, and how to get our sport into the light like dirtbikes, so we can continue to see improvments in the industry, if quads got half the time/money that dirtbikes get for development we would see bikes that eat any bike made now, but competition is the name of the game so Im sure all the arguing/debating will continue, which is cool, it gives me something to laugh about, especially considering probably 90% of the people on this forum dont race competatively.

If we could put half as much energy into something productive, such as activism, instead of bashing each other and their ride, heck we could riding down main street on our quads. Or central park or just more places to ride instead of getting snub out.

I can beat all you guy's on my John Deere riding mower. Had it on the dyno last week, its cranking out 14HP, well heck I got it up to 15 MPH down the hill in my back yard the other day. Gonna put a cool-head and jet kit on it next so I can out drag the guy next door who has a super charged Murry. Then he'll know my vari-speed belt drive is better than his 4 speed. Yessss........that's it, that's the ticket. I was just talking to my wife about this, you know my wife, Morgan Fairchild................................
