I have been reading around and I can't exactly understand what jetting is and what it does. Think you guys could explain to me what it does, how its done, and what comes with the kits you buy?

It is a way to increase or decrease the over-all fuel delivery to the engine. (Engines like around 12.5 to 1 fuel to air for most power, and jetting is a way to keep it at this ratio.)
By changing the jet inside the carb. The bigger the hole in the jet, the more fuel the engine will see. There are different circuits in the carb. Different jets will change the fuel delivery in those circuits. For instance, the main jet will change the fuel delivery from about mid throttle on up to WOT.
That will depend on the kit you buy.

 

i dont have all the details like what each jet controlls but ill give ya some basic info. in the bottom of the carb there is the bowl. inside is the main jet and floats and the pilot jet. the jets controll the ammount of fuel into the motor. the bigger the jet the more gas. when you add something to your fourwheeler your air fuel mixture becomes rich. so you need to put in a bigger main jet to give it more gas and lean out the mixture. to change the main jet you have to take off the bowl and just simply unscrew it and screw the new one in. the pilot is a little harder to get to. you need something like those electricians flat head screw driver that is real skinney and will fit anywhere. then just unscrew the pilot and the new one in. most kits will come with a variety of main jets pilots and a new needle. someone else will come along and help out more eventually.
