Is a Banshee reliable??? doyou have to replace the pistons and rings often????
how long does a top end last. I had a 1998 kx 125, so i know quite abit about 2 strokes. I just thought that the banshee would be more like a snowmobile. I have a 1994 xlt 600 triple and a 1996 ultra 680 triple and you never have to worry about top ends. Is that what a Banshee is like???
im looking into buying one

Banshee's are reliable as long as you do the basic maintence. I have know many Banshee's to go 6-8 years on a topend with no problems. Mine has lasted 2 years and is still going strong. I think I'm going to do a piston set this next summer. Just check your jetting and make sure you run good gas and premix. Change the tranny oil often and use good stuff not the walmart brand.

My brother bought a Banshee new in '94, he just had to put pistons and rings in it for the first time 3 weeks ago.

I have owned a Banshee since November of 1993. I have never had any breakdowns or mechanical problems of any kind. Recently, I checked my compression and found that I am still at factory specification for my particular setup. It is like any other high performance machine, if you want performance you have to be prepared to keep a strict maintenance schedule. In short, my Banshee has never failed to get me home and I consider it to be an extremely reliable machine.

If your looking for reliability, go with a 2-stroke.

I agree. Generally, the fewer moving parts something has the less likely it will break.
