Congrats on the Elk. Bull or cow? If it was a bull, how many points. I'm a big hunter myself.

it was a cow. it was pretty nice though, it was 375 cleaned. and i just got word today that i won the big cow elk competition for hunters under 18 in arizona. i get my elk processed for free! with any kind of specialty meats i want!!! and a knife, a shirt, a cabelas jacket, and a free member ship to some arizona hunting associations. im pretty happy, despite the fact that my parents didnt think that it would embarrass me to be named after a gun company.....

i got the elk 1st shot(it blew the heart to pieces, we could see when we gutted it) from 225 yards with a winchester 270 shortmag.

It's not bad. It's better than Helmut, or Peeface.

Great shootin TEX. 250 yds is a long ways. I hunt mainly white tail deer here in PA. I use a Martin bow, a Traditions PA longrifle flintlock muzzle loader, and a Bortmess Custom 300 Weatherby Magnum. I don't even have to hold high a 500 yds. Kicks like a mule though.

thats pretty crazy that you dont have to hold any higher. i didnt have to do that when i was shooting my dad's single shot .50 caliber rifle at 1 mile. that thing is crazy, but no kick at all. probably cause it weighs like 30 pounds
