Default Awsome raptor jetting question!

i just installed a fmf power bomb header and rejeted it from 146, 148 to 148, 150.i decided to rejet it after it spit a couple times and the plug was whiteish on the tip, which should be tan if im not mistaken. it seems to run good but the header glows and the plug is still white.im running no lid k&n w/ pro flow, yoshi slip on,dyno jets and the header. im below 3000ft and the mixture is 3 turns out and i think its on the 3rd clip.the thing that concerned me was the plug color and the header. whats the deal?any help?

Go richer jet my friend.

Keep going richer till the performance suffers, then step it back till you find the best compromise.

Be careful...continually running it too lean is not good. Personally I'd go really rich, then back it down instead of starting lean and trying to richen it.

I agree flynbryan richen it up a bit. To make the jetting chores easier, after you get torn back down to where you can change the jets, just put the gas tank and seat on it, and take it for a spin, thats what I always did when I was playing the jetting game

Run bigger dj main jets.

...and header colour is normal, once I rejetted, and my friend also, our pipes glow, and I haven't had a problem with it.

A new exhaust system will glow more than stock, they are all made from thinner material. With a DJ needle, 146/148 should be close but if the header is glowing at idle, your idle af screw might be set too lean. When the quad is properly tuned, the plug porcelain should be clean with just a hint of a light tan color ring at the very base of the porcelain where it meets the metal plug body. If your porcelain has color all the way to the tip, you are running rich. It is not "good" for your engine to run rich, you are just wasting gas and giving up HP.
