Ello guys

I just came across a 98 warrior that I can get for 2800 maybe even less... I know I know it has issues, right?? well yes it does have some issues.. these are the problems with it.

1)front shocks are blown *stock shocks*

2)needs a case gasket- leakin oil from the botton of the crank case

3)appears to need a valve job and or rings and or pistion- I could smell some oil on my hand when I put it to the exhaust and when he reved it, it looked a little blue'r then normal..

4)steering colum had a little bit of play (very minute but enough to notice)

he said he put new berrings, brakes, starter and battery.

machine is all stock, no aftermarket anything except a sprocket/disk brake guard on rear swing arm.

what I need to know is, time, money wise, is it worth it???

If so, what are the parts costs and how much time to fix? I can tare a bike down, never tore down a quad!

Anybody with any knowledge about this stuff would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!!

Tei

(yes im kinda excited)*smirks*

hi
that warrior has been jumped badly.
check the frame for cracks.
i would ad the money for the repair job
to the 2800.00 and buy a quad thats been
looked after.

thats true I guess... come to think of it the frame was repainted. I asked him if he ever did any weld repairs or fixed any cracks, he said no, he painted it to cover the scratches.. who knows?

anybody else think this thing should be fixed or should I keep lookin..

thanks

Tei

One of my friends case gasket had to be replaced, luckily there was no perm damage done, however i guess it depends on how long it was abused for, i agree with the other guys, go find a newer quad that has been treated right, i mean, blown shocks? Ive never seen that on a 98 that has been treated even halfway decently

That's a LOT of wear for a '98 Warrior. Sounds like it had a rough life. I would stay away from it...

DON'T WALK AWAY.... RUN!!!!
SOUNDS LIKE A HEADACHE! TOO MUCH $$$ TO HAVE THE MOTOR GONE THROUGH... BUY NEW, OR SLIGHTLY USED.
