Default Can I run It???????

I am changing the oil in my yamaha grizzly and I am wondering if i can run synthetic oil in it, like mobil one red cap. Seeing it doesn't have a semi-auto clutch just wondering if it would hurt it? One other thing is how much is an oil filter for the grizzly?

I WOULDN'T!!! YAMAHA MAKES A SPECIFIC OIL WITH "SPECIAL" LUBRICANTS FOR THE ENGINE. I WOULD NEVER RUN A DIFFERENT TYPE OF OIL. MAYBE A LITTLE BIT WOULDN'T HURT OR FOR A COUPLE HOURS IT WOULDN'T HURT BUT ID DEFFINATELY DRAIN THE SINTHETIC OIL AND RUN THE YAMAHA OIL.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought syntheic was good in about everything? You don't want to put synth in a auto or semi auto? I wanted to put synth in my Rappy. I did the first oil change on my Yamoto 150 and I put in Yamalube and a NGK sparky. Got rid of that "Torch" plug that was in their from factory. Don't know if that matters? I would think it would be ok to use synthetic in the Raptor? Please explain why not. Thanks.

This is a grizzly I am talking about not a raptor, toddrappy660, I run syntetic in all my sport quads and haven't had a problem. My question is that the grizzly is an automatic so wouldn't it be alright to run synthetic? I know yamaha has the oil for the yamaha atvs but the closest dealer is 40 miles away and they also rape you for a quart of oil. I've always heard synthetic was good. Maybe i should've just asked what kind of oil other people run in their grizzly's?

I guess you are talking about engine oil? I use synthetic in my Grizz, everyone I talk to say its about all you want to run in atv's these days. And as for the Yamalube, I almost positive that is all synthetic too. Thats why Yamaha recommends thats all you use. And with the price of filters they can run from $10 to $14. Name brands like Fram are actually cheaper too.

I've been using the regular old Mobil 1 "Red Cap" synthetic car oil in my 727 Raptor, 416EX, and my 750 Magna for about a year now. Works great. No clutch slippage. I definately wouldn't be scared to run it in an ATV that uses an external CVT trans, like the Grizzly.

Actualy I read in didrt wheels that you can a guy asked if he cpould in his grizz and they said that you could. but he said make sure it doesn't have any friction reducing aditives in it. the good thing about sythetic is that it last alot longer then petroleum based oil, so you don't have to change it as offten. it doesnt breack down from heat eather.
