Blaster on the trails
Im 210 pounds and just a touch over 6' tall. I have a Blaster and have prolly 5,000 miles on it (all very very hard miles) My buddies have a Warrior 350, Banshee, Raptor and a Bigbear..
We go Riding a ton on local trails.. If the Trails are tight with twistys and rocks and obsticals then the Blaster is in the lead, it kicks all their butts
If we are riding open dirt roads and the roads are fast and uphill then I suck dirt behind the Warrior and Banshee and Raptor, I do stay ahead of the Bigbear though but this is only on county roads ment for cars.
The Blaster is a very tough machine, but you gotta ride it like you stole it. I lugs around fine but to really use it's potential and keep up with the bigger bikes you gotta ride it like your pissed at it, if you ride it like your trying to blow it up then your doing good.

Blaster on the trails
2005 300 EX MSRP 4549 300cc 4 stroke engine with reverse at 377 lbs
2005 Blaster MSRP 3299 196 CC 2 stroke Engine no reverse at 324 lbs
2005 250 EX MSRP 3549 229 CC 4 stroke Engine with reverse at 349 LBS SHAFT DRIVE
Well I would say that the 250 EX is out, The Blaster would smoke it hard. If you can afford the 300 EX then why not get the Raptor 350 or the 400 EX ? These Machines would smoke the 300 EX and the Blaster and leave you much more satasfied. If money is the Issue then the Blaster has the smallest price tag of the three and probably the highest or nearly the highest performance.
ALSO keep in mind that the Blaster is easy to modify, you can pipe it and gain lots of power, you can big bore it and gain even more, the 4 strokers I dont' think your going to gain as much power with mods for the money.
I would say the Blaster if your looking to get into a starter quad, Its the cheapest with the most room to grow and has great performance, incredable performance for the money.

Blaster on the trails
I have both the Blaster and Warrior. My wife's Blaster has a Toomey pipe and Wesco piston (just to replace the stock one) and the Warrior has a K&N and White Bros pipe. My wife's Blaster stomps on my Warrior as far as quickness and fun to ride factor, however when trailing I ride the Warrior just for the bottom end power of a 4 stroke. My advice to you is if your looking 300cc and lower get the Blaster. The Blaster is fun and in the powerband it will beat most quads 300cc and below. A Honda 300 may give you a run for you money though if both bikes are stock. If your looking 300cc+ don't waste your time on a Warrior get the TRX400 or 450R, Yamaha's 450, or even the Z400.

Blaster on the trails
HAHAH I was wondering if someone would catch on to that
My Blaster is like a 1998 and has to have over 5000 miles on it. It blew up because I let my brother borrow it on a very very hot august day and his fatbut ran that Blaster down the county road at full throttle for like 5 miles, then the county road went up the mountian and he ran it full throttle up the damm mountian and it was like 100 degrees out. Poor Blaster melted down
but that is one thing about the Blaster, it is a two stroke so you must ride like most two strokes and since it's air cooled it can over heat if your working it hard with not enough air flow around the head.
but it's very durable, but a 250 pound fatazz at full throttle up a mountian side for miles in 100 degree heat is a bit much...
at least they are cheap to rebuild $60 bucks or so I'll have the engine like brand new, can you say that of a 4 stroke?
