What does a 686 Raptor consist of?

A 686 is a 102mm bore. All you have to do to say you have a 686 is bore the cylinder and get a 102mm piston. But usually you will want to get a cam, port work, carb's, rod and crank balence, aftermarket valve's and springs, and exhaust/filter.

I go big the first time like scholle said, the first small build will not be fast enough, and if it is then thank god because i built this thig 3 times and wanted to go faster everytime...

badazz660r-As others have suggested it depends on how deep your pockets are but if i were you i would do it right the first time or you will probably regret it later. My first 686 consisted of only a 102 mm 11:1 piston/air filter/jetting and a pipe and header and although it was quite a bit faster than just a piped raptor it wasnt even close to what i have now.I now have porting/cams/valves/valve springs/lightened flywheel/102mm 12.5:1 piston/six six t air filter adaptor/oversized exhaust valves/carillo rod/and the LTE dual exhaust system.I listed all the above to suggest to you that the incredible amount of performance that i now get was worth the cost in my opinion and it even carries my 230 lbs to wins against some quads both two and four stroke that i never thought i would have a chance against in a drag race. The older i get (46) the more i realize that doing something right the first time is usually the best way to go in the long run even though initially the cost may seem scary.

You will spend a lot more money with a minor build and then going up...up...up and up. If you build it right, and get everything you want the first time...it will cost less then building it once. Then changing something....then changing something else. Just do it right if you want to build your quad, and you will be better off and won't spend nearly as much $$ in the long run.

thanks for the reply. When I get the money i think I am gonna go all out and do it right the first time, but first i need to get an 02 trans set up and a pipe. but mostly i need some money.
