the Rhino 660, Raptor 660, and Grizzly 660 why is the rihno and grizzly all power and no speed and the raptor is both speed and tourqe crazy? in other words why if i get on a 660 grizzly then get on a raptor why would the raptor feel alot more tourqey if its the same motor?

grizz and rhino are way heavier, plus don't they both use CVT transmission? if so i think you loose somethin like 15% of power through a cvt tranny, add porting, timing, cam specs, carbs, lotsa things make the difference

lots of differences...the Griz and Rhino have one carb, belt tranny, weigh much more, shaft driven, geared totally different, different cam??, and im sure theres something else i forgot...you get the point though. All those equal less speed and engine pep for the utilities. Although I do believe they are built for more torque than what the Rappy has, but not raw HP.

You lose more than 15 percent through a cvt . Even the best gear type automatics can barely get down to a 10percent loss. The raptor has the most efficient driveline chain with manual. If it had an cvt it would be a gas guzzlr like the v force.

there are a couple of diffrences with the actual motors
1. the electronics were changed to give the 4x4's more torque
2. the cams were changed to give the 4x4's more low end.
add that, plus a cvt plus another 200+/- pounds for the grizz, and more than that for the rhino, and thats what takes away the power
