ceramic head pipe
#1
i posted this question on the honda side as well but i always get better advise here. i had my new yoshi. head pipe for my 450r ceramic coated by Jet Hot. they did it in their sterling finish and it looked great. after a weekend riding at pismo the first 6-8 inches turned dull gray. is this common? has anyone else had this or differnt results. i was under the impression that it would stay shiny for a long time. please let me know what i should except.

Yes that is normal but..... If your headpipe is getting hotter due to not being jetted correctly it will cause this as well. Also, when they ceramic coated it did you get the inside done too? This makes the whole pipe run cooler and the pipe shouldnt change that much at the header. I had mine done and it looks sweet and also had the muffler polished and clear coated for longer lasting.
I had mine done by the shop that does Sparks racings pipes and had them double coat it which is extra and if it ever dulls or rusts I can take it back and they will do the whole pipe again for free as long as I own the pipe!!

I would just check your jetting but it will change color but shouldnt change drastically. I also had my Trinity Stainless pipe coated as well and that thing looks sweet!! Still looks new and had it done 5 months ago. Didnt like the pipe after the first ride turning brown.
