I just purchased a used 98 Grizzley and it is truely a great machine except it seems to be a little unstable at mid to high speeds the backend feels like it wants to come around you have to stay with it at all time is this normal??????

Unstable? It will come around when you punch it, very sport like, but you will find it very hard to tip over or loose control. very well manered.

I understand this will happen during acceleration but it happens at a maintained speed on smooth sand

does a Grizz turn easier than an SP 500? I ask because I want to get one for a spare one and for my girlfriend to ride. she doesn't like to drive the SP it does steer heavy.

I've never actaully experienced that before. I'd check and make sure tire pressure is equal on both sides first. Getting on it too much will cause that to happen. In 2 wheel drive it will light'em up all the way out to 50mph. Thats the only time mine has ever felt like the back was out running the front. I ride mine around at 40-50mph for miles at a time sometimes and I've always thought that it rode pretty cush.

Rockman,

I have had the same thing happen on a Honda 450ES and Sportsman 400.

In both cases, the toe-in of the front tire alignment was too much. Check and make sure that you have at least 1/8 of toe out on the Grizzly and keep increasing the toe out until the machine is stable. It goes without saying that the tie rods must be free of play and the tires inflated properly before beginning the adjustments. Good luck
