Predator TLD or Raptor 660r.

I got my new Dirt Wheels today and they had a shootout between them for trail riding!

How perfect!?

Its been my opinion that D.W. had been Yamaha biased..until recently..the Rappy 35o lost to the 300 ex...(sort Of)

Banshee (kinda) lost to the Bombardier in the dunes review

Raptor 660r (somewhat) lost to the TLD Pred.

Is it me or is D.W. having problems picking clear cut winners in the sport shoot outs?

I guess you gotta keep the advertisors happy!

If alls I ride is trails can anyone sell me on the Raptor 660r?

I've rode a modified one and also a stock..to tall for me..but never been on a Predator..

 

The raptor is great in the trails. Need to lift the front end? Just hit the throttle. Torque has its advantages. I didn't have any problems with it being too tippy, but aftermarket suspension makes it insane.. See if you can ride 'em both, then choose. I've rode predators many times, and while they are nice, and have a hella top end hit, they are not for me. That, and I really don't see them getting in front of me either.

 

D.W. is always full of b.s. no matter what quad they favor.

 

It's like polaris is paying them a few bucks to chose the preddy as a winner, though it is a good machine, as you read in the magazine, if you put a pipe on them on both, the preddy will sort of feel the same while the raptor pushes more and more. My vote would have to go to the rappy. Just feels more for me.

 

Dirtwheels yamaha biased?! They've never been biased towards yamaha...its honda that they go crazy over. It really pisses me off too, most articles in that mag are based on who gives them more money or they're trying to sell a product...check out some of the competing mags and you'll see! Half the mag is advertisements anyways!

 

got that right.... seems like the entire magazine is just a bunch of ads... and YEES DW is biased in it's shootouts....

 

ya they have to pay for that nice front cover and hard back mags lol na i love dirt wheels exspecially the letters section

 

I just read a shootout of the Troy Lee versus the standard Predator in 4 Wheel ATV Action and they actually liked the regular predator better than the Troy Lee. It was a fairly interesting article comparing the two preds. I hope you at least voted this election with your political reference!

 

imo the raptor is the best sport trail quad
it has reverse,great low end pop,and the tippyness everyone complains
about becomes an advantage when negotiating through trees and tight trails
