Im looking to buy a quad this summer. I want somethin i can use for hunting and work that has 4x4 but somethin i can also get crazy with doin some off roadin? What machine do you reccomend?

if so forget about polaris there not to reliable, what about a suzuki eiger, there good for working, fun for playing exspecially mud,look good, reliable,and fun

 

oh ya, i was going to get the kodiak but it was going to kill me in price, the only difference between the iger and the kodiak is the differential lock, and IRS, oh and 1500$ more the eiger is the best for its money

 

Yes I am a first time buyer. Have ridden a lot though. Mostly sportsman models. Havent looked too much at suzukis yet. Any other opinions?

 

I checked the eiger out just now. Looks pretty nice plus its under 600 lbs which is another plus.

 

i just bought mine wednsday....lie i said the kodiak has more accesories but alot more expensive i love my eiger and already have 54 miles on it hehe

 

Youve got lots of time to read up on them.
Keep your eye on the forums, and read the online and magizine articles on them.
Its all in what you want. The big differences between polaris and yamaha( and suzuki)....linked brakes on pol, and separate front and rear on yam and suz.
On the polaris you only get 4wd when the back tires have already lost traction...so its your preference if you want to react to loosing traction, or preventing that .
No downhill 4x4, with the polaris, on suz and yam its your choice if you want 2 or 4 wheel engine braking.
On the polaris, because of the way the cvt works, you need to use low range for going slow....and because of the way the cvt works on the suzi and yami, you only need to go into low when you want, your choice. Also the suzi and yami can be bump started, and the pol cant. that gives you One more choice when the battery dies.
On the kodiak(450), you have your choice of 2wd, 4wd, and 4wd locked...anytime, anywhere, on command. On the pol, you can only enable awd, and then wait for wheel spin, to actually get awd.
