Default battery again

got the 686 all set after the onway bearing went out then the spark plug cap went bad, at which time the starter relay got blown( 01 cdi wont work in an 02) finally got it jetted right and went for a ride and after 12 miles in i pulled a wheelie a little to high and it stalled out after i fell off. Then it wouldnt start it would turn over but not start, so i rolled down a big hill to bump it off, but that did not work, so we pulled it and it still would not start. I swapped out a new battery from a warrior but it would not evan turn the motor over. We pulled back to the trucks and hooked up the jumper cables to the truck and let it charge for a few min. and then it cranked right up!!! but didnt last long and it died again just fartin around in the parking area. So I learned 2 things, a raptor wont run at all if the battery is two weak, and I need a stronger battery!! I looked through the posts and saw a few options but just wondered how they have been working out for you??

Check your Stator, you shouldnt have to charge your battery for your bike to run. I have not changed my battery yet on my 02 and still have the original 01 in the breeze as well.

no idea... but man you def need a stronger battery..... you prolly drained it when you were restarting it...but because it was flooded.. it took a few more cranks then normal and drained the batt...

the stator is good, just the battery is bad. I pulled it for about a mile in 5th and it would not start, if your runs with a dead battery then you are lucky, as far as i know a stock stator by itself wont run the bike.

the screw on my battery broke off from the battery and it still runs with oout the battery attached. if it's ideling real low it most likely will stall.

Dustin I have heard of people using someo ther type of battery for the raptor. Not sure if the Grizzly is bigger. I can get deals on Interstate batteries for you.
