Default raptor question

I have a 04 raptor pipe ,jetted, and filter. First question is sould i go with 11:1 or 12:1 piston ive heard if i go with the 12:1 i have to use racing gas. Is it worth if to go with the 12:1 setup or the 11:1 setup. Second question is what would i need for the 11:1 and the 12:1 setup. JUst stuff that i need i dont want to break my engine ,but i just want stuff im going to need on both set up. Third is my pipe is just a slip on sould i get the headers for it to if i get these setup. Is it worth getting the headers. Thanks for the help guys

Wow..those are all the questions everyone should ask...your rite...10.75:1(11:1) piston will run on regular pump gas and be more reliable in the long run than a 12:1 on race gas.(IMO).. You should also have your head ported and polished and to get the maximum h.p. out of it I would reccomend a header as well. Along with either a stage1 or stage 2 hot cam. I think the stage 1 is more for mx style riding while the stage 2 is more of a high r.p.m. cam. What type of riding do you do....dunes, motocross, trail????alot depends on that. Were you gonna do the motorwork yourself or send it to a builder?

I think the headers would definetly help if you plan to build the motor. Also the 12:1 will require some type of race gas.

But you will have to answer some of Stallion's questions before we can give much more advice.

All I know of is the spillway and it is dusty sand with trails. We go every sunday there. Where do you usually ride?

I'm sure missgirl knows how bad southern mississippi sucks for finding people to ride with and places to ride. Every chance I get to find someone that rides, I take a chance.

Even though I'm sure she's hott!!! A girl that rides a raptor is more than enough persuasion.

You should be able to un the 12:1 on pump gas. YFZ are 12:1 and run fine on 93 octane
