2005 Raptor Clutch...ugh
#1
I just took delivery of a brand spankin new 2005 Raptor 660R. I read through the manual like a good little owner...started it up. Well I pulled the clutch in, dropped it in 1st (like the manual says) and it jumped on me. The clutch didn't work. If I put it in 1st and hit the start, it will creep forward. Has anyone ran into this problem, or is it a manufacture defect? Please help!

I have tried to adjust the clutch cable both at the bars and at the motor...either i'm doing something wrong, or there is a problem. Anyone else have any problems with this or heard of it.....any other ideas?

Yup, our YFZ occasionally jumps when the clutch is pulled. Thinking about it only after its been sitting for awhile...but not every time..Wierd

Sounds to me like your clutch is engaged still while you have it pulled in. To correct this you need to move the 2 nuts on the cable that leeds to the clutch thats on the right side of the engine case. I believe you would move the nuts towards the back of the quad.

the clutch is engaging because your oil is cold, and your adjustment is slightly off, if you have a warranty i would just take it to your dealer, otherwise. my raptor does it sometimes no big deal, once it warms up no problem, start it with clutch pulled in and in 1st gear.
