Of course there is always the alternative theory that porting actually hurts performance, but I wont go there.
The advantage of CCR building your engine is you know that it will be put together correctly and no one will be skimping on parts or procedure. You never know when the local guy or your own hands may screw up.

There is a therory that small high velocity ports work better. There is some truth to a point. There is a website I read somewhere that a guy reshapes his ports with epoxy (smooth smaller) claims more power.I will try to find it. I think its motoman or something like that. The same guy believes in WFO break in too.

Scholle it is Motoman, but you have to understand that most of his stuff is raod bikes that stay at 6500 to 8500 rpm and stay there during the whole race. I have never seen a drag race application cylinder head with smaller intake ports.
I have a friend who runs a 588 big block in a 70 chevelle, 9.20@158 1/4 et. Anyway his intake runner is 485cc's, thats one intake runner. You could run a tennis ball through it. If I told him he would run quicker with smaller intake ports there would not be a place anywhere in that shop I could hide before he would beat my head in....

I can beat Ernie on my Craycraft "stock bore" HIGH Comp raptor. Size does matter but i have the extended range craycraft thumb throttle. That in its self is good for another 2000 rpm's.
The porting theroy? I once had a port job from trinity but i will not go there.
Most builders have access to the same parts, true but most of the good ones are having there stuff made to specs of theres from cams to pistons to exhaust. 90 percent of Craycafts work is on raptors. After building a 100 plus i would not go anywhere else. He will build to order/spec and budget. I just wish some out west would order the Glamis hillshooter delux version and put the doubt to rest. That one does not run on pump gas!!!

Hey 14 mins...I think that because Tom and I are the only Arizona representitives for Craycraft at the moment..I think you should send that Glamis hillshooter deluxe version on a truck down here with Bob's son to represent Craycraft in the 4sw's...Or just send us one of those corperate bikes for us to represent Craycraft on...... With Tom's Dad or Bob's son as pilot, I think that trophy would look good in Bob's shop...don't you?
