I was just wondering ( while I am still waiting.... ) how the reverse engaged on the raptor. I know about the switch, is it like the wolv... are the gears set up n-1-2-3-4-5.. or 1-n-2-3-4-5 if its the first way do you just turn the **** from n then shift down?? if its the other way can it be engaged from any gear ( kinda like you can on the warrior??? ) sorry I know its kinda a dumb question.... just wondering..

 

I believe it is 1-n-2-3-4-5. I am almost positive that you put it in first then turn switch and shift down into reverse.

 

I just rode my friends Raptor and the way you put it in reverse is you put it in N, then pull the clutch in, turn **** to the right, then push down 2 times on gear shifter. Then release clutch. Be care full, Reverse is as fast as 1st gear forward!!

 

gears are 1 N 2 3 4 5 but to go to reverse you can twist the **** while in first and shift down once more so it is actually R 1 N 2 3 4 5, to get out of reverse just shift back up and your in first. It is very smooth. the shifts are just a click on the shifter, not like having to cram it into gear.

 

The reverse is ungodly FAST!!! I almost killed myself the first time I used it! In fact, I let a freind ride it (he's been riding banshees for years) and he ROLLED IT because he turned the wheel in reverse!!! No damage though. Lucky. But Idle alone is as fast as a brisk jog!

 

It may have competition in forward gears, but it definetly has the title of the "Fastest Reverse Gear"! I haven't and probably won't ever max out the reverse. It will be awhile before I top it out, but so far while I was in fourth I almost forgot that there is still one more gear! I'm totally satisfied and the wait was worth it!
