The book says 20mm max. But, at 20mm the swingarm cannot move through the full range of the rear suspension because the chain binds! Even a 7200# tensile chain is going to get tired of that!

Bluetracks (misspelled on purpose..board complaint. There are two x's after the 'a') says 1" is the correct measurement.

Is the manual spec just something that everyone ignores?

There is no one on BT that knows crap anyway. Tighten up your chain so while you are sitting on the quad reach down and see that you have about 3/4" of play.

That's one heckuva lot more than what Yamaha says to adjust it to.

I don't have a problem or any misunderstanding as to what chains do on a swingarm (arcs of movement and such..vary from machine to machine), or what proper adjustment is for any machine.

Seeing as the banshee has only been around for about ever, I was surprised to find that Yamaha's point of view as to what is 'correct' is so far off-base!

Just seems Yamaha should have at least the slightest clue.

Guess not.
