kick start yfz450

Default kick start yfz450

Any one out there know if it is even possible to kick start a yfz450 with a hot rods stage 2 cam and a 13:1 wiseco piston

I dont see why not. might be a lil stiff but im sure its possible. isnt all the racing quads kick start?!?

Default kick start yfz450

i want to get one but i want to remove the electric start to shave some extra weight i guess you can loose about 20 pounds that would make it 330 pounds with 40hp should make a very good dune machine.im trying to get rid of my sandrail to get one,has anyone seen a yfz450 run against a quadzilla i want to knmow how close they are

you HAVE to take the electric start off to put the kickstart on...

u gotta keep the battery on though, the radiator fans needs it to run or else it will misfire when ever the fan tries to turn on. if u dont need the fan then u can jus remove it and u will be able to take the battery out.

Don't get your hopes up man, you'll only loose about 10 pounds, a fellow friend of mine that is a mx racer, has done it, but it's a little stiff(hard). And yes you have to loose the electric starter.

you HAVE to take the electric start off to put the kickstart on...
The kickstart can be run with or without the E start still intact. It's not an issue either way.

You dont have to have your batter, you will lose around 12 lbs, also take off heelgaurds, parking brake, skids, coolant bottle, black box, lighter tires, shave plastics, lighter bars, lighter pipe etc..

maybe when i get one i will just leave it alone i hear they run very well stock so mybe just a valve job cam and new valve springs then the extra weight wont matter
