tried posting under yamaha but no responces. if anyone could just reply real quick i would appreciate the help. I have a 1995 kodiak 400. tried to change oil and ran into some ?s. What size is the drain plug. leaking a little bit out of oil filter housing any tricks ? owners manual says to check oil galley bolt is to be loosened till oil seeps out. cannot get oil to seep out. any kodiak oil change guys with experience i would really appreciate it thanks.

 

I've never changed oil in a Kodiac but i know that your filter might be leaking because the o-ring thats on it might not be moist?.. i usually and you should usually put a little oil in the filter before putting it on and put oil on your finger then rub it onto the o-ring to moisten it with oil!!!! make sure everything is dirt free, and sand-grain clean!!!!!!!
