Default Banshee Power problem....FUEL?

My buddy just bought a new 2004 Banshee that already had a Pro flow kit/K&N filter, FMF pipes with the jetting set @ 280 for the main. He is in Phoenix, Az around 1200ft(I think). The Issue that he is having is after around half a tank of fuel, his bike seems to cut out and not make any more power, like it hits the power band and then falls flat, and then stops pulling. He adds more fuel and then it seems fine again. Any suggestions? Everything else is stock.
Thanks again,
Rydogg

check the vent to the gas tank. It sounds like it is plugged and creating a vaccuum in the tank. Also try just unscrewing the gas cap and running like that to see if that is the problem.

But why would it only run bad after half a tank?

not enough ventilation from the tank can cause it to bog

Think about it for a sec, as fuel is geting sucked out of the tank and no air is allowed in its going to create a vacuum, making it harder for fuel to get drawn into the carb, once you open the tank it allows air in and that process starts all over again. Nice diagnosis zorro
