Well I finally did it, moved from a Kawi dirt bike to a brand new raptor. I'm curious if there's any good blow up diagrams or schematics detailing the reverse system on the Raptor 660. Thanks in advance.

Thanks maddog. I'll get the service manual for sure. Before I disconnect the rev limiter, I wanted to know how the entire system worked before messing with it as well as the once the warranty disappears. They have limiters for mechanical reasons too. Thanks again.

 

i think if u disconnect the rev limiter the brake light stops working.somebody correct me if im wrong

 

99% of the reason for the limiter is to keep people from hurting themselves. The 01 models didnt have reverse limiters but it was changed for 02. The reverse light does stop working if you ground out the appropriate wire. You can spend 25 bucks on a box that you have to wire in that will keep the light working, or just use a resistor yourself.

You can find service manuals online for free, a paper edition is availible for around 30 bucks. Clymer is cheaper and just as good if not better than a Genuine Yamaha Service Manual.
