It never had a problem with top end speed. The thing revs nicely through all gears. The problem I have is that you cannot crawl in first or second gear, and second was useless for climbing sand dunes. Had to go up in first unless approaching with much momentum.

Now, with the 12 tooth sprocket, it feels like I lost my top speed due to gearing. I'll be riding Saturday and see how it does. I used a Renthal.
