Here are a couple that will help with adjusting float height if you ever need to. Setting the float height

a jet is what meters how much fuel enters your engine to be mixed with air and combust
jets come in different sizes to allow more/less fuel,,,,depending on how much air volume you are dealing with
people who put high flow intakes and filters on their bikes have to also install a larger main jet to compensate for the increase in air flow
If they didn't,,,the engine would burn 'lean' (too much air,,,not enough fuel) and run too hot
In the winter,,,,the cold air is denser than in the summer months,,,,so your engine is probably running lean,,,and making for a harder start
You probably just need to turn your air/fuel screw on the bottom of your carb out about 1/4 turn,,,,to richen (add more fuel) to your idle circuit,,,,which will help with cold starting.

Sash, more than likely, you are just lean (meaning you are not getting enough fuel to the carburator when it is cold).
This is assuming your air filter is clean, and that your sparkplug is fresh.
To richen up the pilot circuit, you will either have to screw IN the air screw, or go up a size on the pilot jet.
The Carburator thread should be able to explain these different circuits, and what they do fairly well.
