The Warn works like a charm. You won't be sorry. I use mine in 2WD 90 percent of the time in summer, 50 or more when it snows.

Just bought a 97 wolverine. It's in real rough shape. Paid $1,300.00. Runs but not much power at all. Took carb apart, was dirty, had mud in it. Cleaned it and it runs a little better. Front wheel bearing was toast. Took knuckle to machine shop and 2 hours on the press it finally came out. All the calipers were frozen. Previous owner ran til front pads were beyond metal to metal. I disconnected rear parking brake wires and cable setup. Put block off plate on rear caliper. Just put a cfm airbox with a uni-filter and an fmf megamax on and a dynojet kit. Still not much power. Can't even pull front wheels up over bump in any gear including first. Have to pull carb off again and make sure slide is moving up an check float level. Still needs a lot of fine tuning and cosmetics but i am now into machine for about $2000.00 and that is cheap for a wolvy. I still need new plastic since battery is falling out of rear fender and front is pretty banged up. Will have pics on here soon.

Yeah I agree with you on that one. I've ridden only a few quads in my life. The newer KFX and an older EX. Both 400's. The KFX is a great quad powerwise and seems capable of just about anything my Wolverine does. Even though it's only 2wd it makes up with the 13:1 piston and lighter weight. Mine could rock crawl a little better.

I don't look at mine as a screamer, but it will go pretty good when I ask it to. A Warn kit will help you out for a sportier ride, but if you want to fly, then sell it and get something that was made to do it. It is what it is. The design is at least 10 years old and not much has changed. It is tried and true, but a little heavy and not in the same league as the sportier models.

I'm not knocking my or anyone elses ride, I like my quad for what it is and what it does. I'm very happy with it!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone noticed that on the wolvy you can set the light switch between high and low beam and get both???

I can on mine. The light is tremendous, but I'm afraid I will overload a circuit and blow a fuse. Anyone have any experience with this????

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Chief

Chief, word from the wise.. don't do it for very long. I had a buddy that put his switch in the "dual" position and after a little bit, the bulbs heated up enough to melt the solder and let the mounting rings pop right off. Two bulbs toasted ... good thing we just finished a day ride and were headed back to camp.. got there right at dusk. No lights in the nighttime would have sucked.
