Default Banshee problem

1st off did you / your friend take the carbs off recently? Are you sure all the rubbers are tight? What shape are the "O" rings? The "O" rings in the carb like in the air mixure screw o rings. Spray some carb cleaner onto the carbs around the boots while the banshee is running and spray the carbs in a manner that you can see where you apply the cleaner. Your motor should bog if cleaner gets in thruogh a leak. Walla there is your leak. If any.

Next If you removed the carbs you may have tweeked the throttle cable. Check where the two become one under the fuel tank. This has happen to me. You really got to feel around to make sure this is right. If one side slipped out of the retainer it will increase the idle. Pull the rubber sleave back so you can see the two cables enter the housing. Pull the cable out just a bit on both then push them back in. If one is out you will notice the different look on the one theat out. You will see the metal ring on the end of the cable where the palstic ends and the cable exits.

The easiest thing to check is the throttle cable adustment on the thumb throttle. Is it turned all the way out? Tuning it out increases the idle while screwing it in decreases the idle. There are more things to go over but these are the most common.
Good luck
Oh if you can see into the back of the carbs check your slide position. They should be 1 to 3 mm from bottom. if there like a 1/4" from bottom its the TORS Adjustment. If you dont have the TORS hooked up anymore. Adjust the slides down with the top screw on top of the carb cap.
