After reading some of these threads I'm getting kinda nervous about getting some major air with my Raptor. The Timmy Boy Designs A-arms are sweet but not a sweet price tag. Maybe it would be a good idea to buy the extended warranty. Then again with the money spent on the warranty you could buy the new A-arms. I'm not getting mine until December so hopefully there will be a solution to this problem by then. Later

Everyone SHOULD be nervous.

Can you imagine having to spend 635 bucks (plus shipping and handling) just to be able to feel safe while out riding a brand new Quad???

All the purchased factory warranties in the world don't mean much if you are six feet under or laying on your back, all busted-up, in some hospital somewhere.

And, now we read here, about the 190lb. New Raptor Owner that bent the rear axle off of a measly 4ft.
jump.

It will be the biggest ATV Recall in History.

Geared funny, way too fast in Reverse, folding up A-frames, bending rear axles, runablity issues, etc.

Count me in on the bent axle. I'm a fat boy at 205 and have no fear. I was busting some 60' table top's on my Raptor. I was very very pissed about the axle getting bent. But after reading all this A-arm stuff...heck I'm a lot happier...I'm alive.

Look again the timmy boy set requires use of the size of shocks required for a widened 250R front end, the result is over 11" travel but at the expense of $600-800 more for shocks.

I think Yamaha will improve the Raptor before they release the second round of them. At least I hope they do.

Sounds like Yamaha went waaaay too far in their efforts in their goal of making this quad weigh in at less than 400lbs... Sacrificing integrity for weight is not an acceptable compromise.....

the timmy boy a arms can use the oem shocks with the +1's and +2's its only the +3's that "need" the new shocks. (they told me the oem's just wouldnt work as well with the A-arms)..Still not an inexpensive fix.

1 or 2 of a few folks here on the board, of the hundreds of Raptors in the country, only a few are represented here.

Time will tell if it is truly going to be a problem. I have always felt that the aluminum tubing was not suitable for what an upper control arm sees.

These folks did tell us what they were doing at the time, they had no reason to lie or bend reality.

Do you guys have stock in Yamaha or what? Quit trying to cover for them. Listen and learn, call Yamaha on problems, a better bike will result for all of us.

hmm then I may reconsider buying them. If we had a GNCC series any where near here I would build it for that, But MX, and CC are dead in the south. only up north, midwest and west do they have any real racing series. Its a Pity, Id build a $15000 Raptor If I had a Series to compete in. No Im not bragging, I just Like to spend what is needed to WIN. I wasted away over $10,000 last year in car audio gear , but I competed in 2 world finals also. And I enjoyed it. There just really isnt the spectators or recognition in Car Audio that MX and GNCC has, and most spend up to $100,000 for car audio systems. But then again there isnt any recognition at all here because there are no series at all for Riders. Dilemmas, Dilemmas.
