Some buddies of mine want to head out to buttercup at the end of February. I have never been. how are the dunes their vs. glamis dunes. Same? What about the atmosphere, Party spot or not?

 

I love buttercup, it is a great place to ride, very few restrictions as you can pass into mexico and then flip all the tree hugging environmentalist the bird as you run over ever milk vecht you can see. It is very family oriented and not a party pad kind of place, I have seen my fair share of party sites asked to leave because they were being obnoxious. It is smaller than G but still a great place to ride.

I prefer buttercup over glamis 100 to1, IMO the riding their is way better in buttercup, the sand are soooo much smoother when you get into mexico, i think the dunes at glamis are terrbile, glamis is more for racing banshees and young chicks getting drunk. i prefer to rise all day party all night.

 

I have been to Glamis and Gordons Well. Buttercup seems too small, but GW is great. The sand on this side of the dunes is much looser then the Glamis side. On the big steep dunes you will notice a lot of sand slides. Be careful on the steep sides due to this. It can be easy to did the front end in.

 

I guess I'll be the first to choose Glamis over Buttercup. Buttercup is too small. And the hills start out rather large right off the bat. Which means the little ones are stuck riding right next to camp. I've been to Buttercup and Gordons Wells once. And that will be my only time to either. I, and my rug-rats, prefer Glamis.

 

Glamis all the way... for us[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] not just for olds but China wall... BIG DUNES, BIG HILLS... and if they ever open the rest up... the Wall is Bar-None!
