Default HELP weird squiking/popping noise

I was riding today and i kept hearing this squiking/quiet popping noise and didn't no where it was coming from.It seemed to make this noise when i would let off the throttle,i would also hear it when i was wheelieing, but i would hear it when it came down like on the shocks. So i don't know if there maybe something wrong with my shock or something internal, but it ran fine all day today.Anyone have any clues.

Default HELP weird squiking/popping noise

if the noise is in the rear,,,,,,,,it is most likely your axel bearings

jack the rear,,,,,and give er a wiggle

dont ride if thats what it is,,,,,,you can do further damage to your bearing carrier

Could be your shock, when my shocks get dirty they squeek a little sometimes, normally after a dusty trail...

Default HELP weird squiking/popping noise

popping is a sure sign of breaking bearings

does it happen randomly only when you are rolling?

Well i guess it was random, because i would hear it sometimes (probably every minute or so)mostly when i would give it gas and let off the throttle. It also did it everytime i came down from a wheelie.

Try pushing the grab bar up and down and see if the shock squeeks...

put the skidplate up on a milk crate ,,,,and wiggle the tires/axle,,,,,,,,,,there should be no play

if the axle wobbles,,,,,your bearings are shot

it will start out as a random crunch,,,and progress to random popping as the bearing start to break up

the farther you go on em,,,,the more potential damage you will do to the bearing carrier

Default HELP weird squeeking/popping noise

alright i'll try that tomorrow.Today i saw that i had a really loose bolt in the rear, its the big bolt that loosens and tightens the chain.I tightened it back, but don't know if it had anything to do with it,because i haven't got to ride it yet.I'll check tomorrow to see if it was the bearings.I'm hoping that bolt had something to do with it.But i did ride it alittle this morning (before i saw the bolt)and it seemed like the noise was coming from the right side in the engine.Could it be the clutch or something?By the way thanks for the help so far.
