Anybody ever get one of these things to work? I just bought one for my new 07' YFZ450 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to mount the magnet and the sensor ..

It's completley worthless to even have this thing if you have to mount it on the rear rotor....

I have a Trail Tech Vapor computer on a Suzuki Z400 (Kawasaki & Arctic Cat sell/sold the same model). As I recall, I had to take off the FRONT wheel and brake rotor and replace one of the rotor bolts with the magnet from the computer. It was a little tricky (but I'd never even taken off a front wheel before). It seems to be working fine. I think there were a couple of mounting options (if memory serves). I don't know how applicable this is to a Yamaha YZF 450, but it does seem like a nice unit. The tach works from just some coils of wire around the spark plug wire. I connected it so the computer is powered from the ATV battery. I haven't connected the temprature gauge yet (I'm a little nervous about cutting my coolant hose to insert the gauge, though I'm sure it will be fine - it just seems like whenever I think about it I'm about to go riding and don't want to chance disabling the quad if the connection leaks or something).

I'd call Trail Tech and see what they say. You can adjust it for different wheel sizes, and it came with a number of mounting parts I didn't need with my Suzuki, so I think they come with hardware to install them on a variety of quads.

I wound up taking my front wheel off, and there aren't even any bolts in the rotor ... on the rear rotor there are.

I don't think the one I got even came with the temperature probe or tach, I think it's just for speed and what not ... I think it was the most basic model they sold.

I dunno it just pisses me off because Trail Tech says this will fit a YFZ450 yet there isn't even a single picture of the sensor mounted on a YFZ450.

That's pretty shoddy in my book ....
